Success Stories

Rachel (FKA Raven)

Raven was our very first S.A.F.E. House rescue when she was surrendered to us in July of 2020. She was originally brought in to an animal hospital to be euthanized due to issues with her kitty housemates, but luck was on her side when we were contacted by one of the vet techs on her behalf. Raven was surrendered to us at 6 years young and was the picture of health at her intake vet check. It took only three weeks for this sweet and affectionate beauty to catch the eye of her new pet parent. Now going by the name Rachel, she is being spoiled as the only kitty at her fur-ever home and her new owner made quick work of getting her her very own name tag in addition to all her other kitty essentials.

Chikorita AKA Chiki

Our second rescue, Chikorita aka “Chiki,” was officially adopted on October 26th 2020.  Chiki had the cards stacked against her when she was brought in to an animal hospital by a good Samaritan with a large umbilical hernia, a dislocated hip, and her biggest obstacle: testing positive for FeLV.  After addressing her medical needs and becoming available for adoption, one woman was able to look past her special needs and fell in love with her strong talkative personality. The two made an immediate bond and we have no doubt that she will be able to live her best life being the only cat in the house and the first pet for her adopter. Her story is a great example of finding your purrfect match.

Puck (FKA Caramel)

Estimated to have been 5 months old at the time of rescue, Caramel was surrendered by a good Samaritan who noticed this severely injured stray. All in all, he needed a leg and toe amputation, and had sustained injuries to both his lip and tail. Regardless of his trials, he has remained a rambunctious, always-purring kitten. After being treated, he quickly stole the hearts of his adoptive family where he was able to start out the new year. His new family lovingly named him Puck to reflect his mischievous, happy-go-lucky “purrsonality.” He now resides with his Mom, Dad, and kitty sister where he continues to prove that three legs are just as good as four!
